DESCRIPTION:This event has passed\, but read about the event here! \n  \n  \nDe la Tierra Nacimos\n“From the Earth we were born” \nIn honor of Latino Conservation Week\, come join us on Saturday\, September 20th\, for a field trip to celebrate the Salinas River\, which is the backbone of the Salinas Valley. \nDuring the field trip\, we will enjoy a day of recreation\, art\, exploration and reflection on our public lands. We will also learn from experts about the history\, hydrology\, ecology\, conservation of the Salinas River and ways to care for the river through nature-based solutions\, climate adaptation and environmental justice. \nThis event is free and will include music\, food\, and presentations. Activities will include river diaries\, water quality tests\, bird watching\, plant identification\, and scientific illustration. DESCRIPTION:Have a snack and enjoy the company of other volunteers. You’ll go home feeling good that you made a difference! \nWear closed toe shoes and clothes that can get wet\, as we’ll be wading in shallow water. Bring trash grabbers if you have them. Come learn how beavers improve riparian areas\, make landscapes more resistant to fire\, droughts\, and flooding\, and how they provide important habitats for other species.
