River and stream health can be achieved through process-based restoration, which mimics the behaviors of beavers in order to restore balance to the river ecosystem.
Thinking Big for Regional Beaver-Led Restoration
At the SLO Beaver Brigade, we are constantly inspired by the sheer amount of work beavers do to slow, spread, and sink water across our watersheds. But as we know, beavers don’t care about county lines! To truly support beaver-led restoration and Process-Based Restoration (PBR) across the Central Coast, we need a watershed-scale strategy that matches their ambition.
Linking Arms Across Four Counties
Rather than submitting a piecemeal project here or there, we are building a unified regional proposal that spans key landowners and watersheds across San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Monterey, and Ventura counties.
If you own land in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Monterey, or Ventura counties and want to explore being included in a regional planning ask, we’d love to connect!
- Email us at: info@slobeaverbrigade.com
- Please include: Your name, county, and a brief note about your stream’s current behavior.
