Beaver Dam Monitoring Program
Our volunteer Beaver Dam Monitoring Program monitors the health of our local beaver population on the Salinas River and other waterways on the Central Coast.

Drinkable Rivers – Summer 2025!
We are partnering with Drinkable Rivers, a global environmental movement, to start a Drinkable Rivers community science water quality testing program on the Salinas River.
This program is still in development, but we hope to launch it by Summer 2025. Fill out the Interest Form if you would like to join this program.

Ríos Bebibles – ¡Verano de 2025!
With generous support from the Rose Foundation, we are offering a summer internship to Spanish and Mixteco-speaking youth from the Paso Robles area in Drinkable Rivers water quality data collection, beavers, traditional ecological knowledge, and related topics. This program will be conducted primarily in Spanish.
If you are interested in volunteering or otherwise contributing to this program, please reach out to Raine at raine@slobeaverbrigade.com!

River Clean-Ups
We used to coordinate monthly river clean-ups on the Salinas River. We would love to start doing river clean-ups again, but we need a volunteer to help organize these events!
Please contact us at info@slobeaverbrigade.com if you are interested in this role.

Office space – The SLO Beaver Brigade is currently in need of office space (ideally with some storage space for river monitoring supplies such as waders, SD cards, and batteries for webcams) for our small staff.
Do you or someone you know have such a space that could be donated, perhaps with a longer-term arrangement for paying rent in the future? Please email Audrey at audrey@slobeaverbrigade.com.

Learn about future events
Throughout the year, we participate in recurring and one-off events to keep our rivers and creeks healthy. We work to educate folks around beavers in San Luis Obispo County and the work they do to replenish our groundwater, provide fire refugia, and increase the quality and quantity of water in our creeks and rivers.
Thank you so much for your interest in supporting our organization, the beavers in SLO County and the overall health of our watersheds. We are in this for the long-term health of our region, and the more arms linked together, the longer we can go.
